Asus ROG STRIX GTX 1080 Ti OC Specs Confirmed

The specs for the upcoming Asus ROG STRIX GTX 1080 Ti 11GB OC edition have been confirmed, rocking a clock speed of 1594MHz (base) to 1708MHz (boost) in OC mode. Like most of Asus graphics cards, the STRIX GTX 1080 Ti OC will feature a Game mode and OC mode. I’m guessing out of the box it will be set to “Game mode” where you get a base clock speed of 1569MHz and a boost clock speed of 1683MHz, and the memory clocked at 11010 MHz. Check out the rest of its specifications below.

Let’s start with the common specs first; all GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is based on a GP102 chip with 3584 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 88 ROPs and 11GB of GDDR5X running on a 352-bit of memory interface. It has a TDP of 250W and the Founders Edition features a 6+8 pin power connector with a recommended PSU of 600W.

The Asus ROG STRIX GTX 1080 Ti OC edition features several improvements, most noticeably on its cooler and an overclock speed right out of the box. Asus boast that the STRIX cooler is more silent and offers superior cooling performance compared to the reference one. The STRIX cooler features MaxContact technology with twice the contact area with the GPU and 40% more heat dissipation area, resulting to an “up to 30% cooler and 3x quieter gaming performance”.

Asus is also offering a native DVI-D port on their STRIX 1080 Ti, which is missing on the Founders Edition. It also features a 10+2 phase VRM and draws its power from an 8+8 pin power connector.

According to reports, custom GTX 1080 Ti from AIB partners will become available starting early April. We don’t have pricing yet, but if the GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition is priced at $699, more or less the Asus STRIX GTX 1080 Ti OC will be priced at $700 or more. That’s usually the case.
