AMD Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs Price and Release Date Announced – Ryzen 7950X At $699 Coming Feb. 28

Last month, AMD announced the X3D variants of its Ryzen 7000 processors, built with AMD’s 3D V-cache technology. These CPUs are the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 900X3D, and Ryzen 7 7800X3D. AMD didn’t disclose the MSRP of these CPUs and the exact release date or availability. But they did mention that it will be available on February 2023. Some speculated or rumored that they would become available on February 14. However, AMD’s recent announcement was partially different than expected. Check out more details below.

AMD Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D and 7800X3D Price and Release Date Revealed

Right off the bat, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is a 16-core, 32-thread processor. It has a base clock speed of 4.2GHz and a boost clock speed of 5.7GHz. Its specs are more or less similar to the non-X3D variant. However, when it comes to TDP and Cache size, this is where the 7950X3D differs.

The Ryzen 9 7950X3D has a huge 128MB L3 cache size. Meanwhile, the 7950X only has a 64MB L3 cache. On the flip side, the 7950X has a higher TDP of 170W, and the 7950X3D is rated for 120W TDP only. At this point, we don’t know how these specs and config variants would affect the CPU’s performance. But we will find out soon once the 7950X3D is released.

The good thing is there’s no premium over the non-X3D variant. The Ryzen 9 7950X comes with an MSRP of $699. The same launch price for the 7950X. Currently, the 7950X is selling for around $589 only.

Moving to the second X3D CPU, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D is a 12-core, 24-thread CPU with a boost clock speed of 5.6GHz. It has the same TDP are the 7950X3D but with a fewer L3 cache of 128MB.

Price-wise, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D comes with an MSRP of $599, a $50 premium price over the 7900X’s launch price. Both the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D will be available starting February 28, 2023. What about the Ryzen 7 7800X3D?

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Will Be Available on A Later Date

I’m guessing the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will be the more popular X3D CPU among the three. Maybe, that is why AMD is delaying the release of the 7800X3D so that the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and 7900X3D will have a better chance at selling.

Another thing, if all these three X3D CPUs will have the same gaming performance, the 7800X3D would be a no-brainer. Even though it only has 8 cores and 16 threads, at $449, it is definitely the more attractive gaming CPU for gamers among the three. Assuming their gaming performance is the same or at least close, within a 5% difference.

The Ryzen 8 7800X3D has a slightly lower boost clock speed of 5GHz than the 7700X. However, it has a higher TDP of 120W and an L3 cache of 96MB, compared to 7700X’s 105W TDP and 32MB L3 cache. The 7800X3D is also $50 higher than the 7700X’s launch price.

While the 7950X3D and 7900X3D will be available by the end of February, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will not be available until April 6, 2023. That’s two months (+ a few days) from the release date of the first two X3D CPUs.

You can check out the rest of the specifications from the table below, including the specs of the non-X3D and non-X processors.
