AMD’s latest CPU and platform will be available starting September 27, next week. Just a few days before its release, AMD recently shared some benchmark results of its flagship Ryzen 9 7950X CPU. And boy oh boy, these are some serious numbers AMD shared. The CPU was benchmarked using Cinebench R23, Cinebench R20, Cinebench R15, and 7-Zip. Check out the results below.
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Benchmarked Using Standard Liquid Cooling
Ahead of the launch of the Ryzen 7000 Series desktop processors, AMD revealed a preview of the Ryzen 9 7950X overclocking performance, pushing the processor to new heights to break several overclocking records.
Using standard liquid cooling, the Ryzen flagship achieved chart-topping scores in multi-thread tests, including:
- 40,498 in CB R23 nT with a Ryzen 9 7950X @ 5.4GHz all-core using a 280mm AIO, ASROCK X670E Taichi motherboard, and 32GB Kingston DDR5 memory.
- 15,771 in CB R20 nT with a Ryzen 9 7950X @ 5.35GHz all-core using a 280mm AIO, GIGABYTE X670E AORUS Master motherboard, and 32GB G.SKILL DDR5 memory.
- 6,900 in CB R15 nT with a Ryzen 9 7950X @ 5.5GHz all-core using a 280mm AIO, ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero, and 16GB G.SKILL DDR5 memory.
- 228,992 MIPS in 7-Zip with a Ryzen 9 7950X @ 5.45GHz all-core using a 280mm AIO, MSI MEG X670E ACE motherboard, and 32GB Corsair DDR5 memory.
What do you think of these results? The Ryzen 9 7950X looks promising, but I’m not too surprised since it is a flagship CPU. We’ll just have to wait for independent reviews to go live once the embargo lifts to confirm these results.
AMD Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 CPUs vs 13th Gen Intel Raptor Lake CPUs
As of now, there’s very little (leak) information about Intel’s upcoming 13th gen Raptor Lake CPUs, especially benchmarks. There are some leaks, but it’s still too early yet. It would be interesting to see how the Ryzen 9 7950X fares with Intel’s Core i9-13900K.
