AOC U2879VF 28″ 4K UHD Monitor Features
Let’s start with its features; the AOC U2879VF is a 28-inch 4K Ultra HD monitor with a 10-bit deep color. It has a native resolution of 3840×2160 resulting at a 157 pixels per inch density. Unfortunately this doesn’t have an IPS panel; instead it has a Twisted Nematic, or TN panel with a 170°/160° horizontal/vertical viewing angles. It also features a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio and a brightness level of 300 cd/m². One advantage of having a TN panel is having a response time of only 1ms.
The AOC U2879VF runs at 60Hz (via DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0), and it has AMD FreeSync technology built in it. Users with compatible graphics card(s) can take advantage of variable refresh rate technology, no tearing or stuttering, and it’s a cheaper solution compared to NVIDIA’s G-Sync.
A Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture feature is also present in this 4K monitor. With this feature, users can watch a video from a media device through the HDMI connection on one part of the screen, while browsing the Internet from a computer with via the DisplayPort connection on the rest of the screen.
