For those who want to own one of the latest MacBook Air or Pro this Black Friday / Holiday season, now is your chance. We are seeing most of them getting discounts from major retailers. In this article, we’ll just focus on the Black Friday deals for MacBook Air and Pro. We’ll have another article for other Apple products. Does Apple have Black Friday deals?
I’m not sure about Apple’s own online store, but major retail partners do offer Black Friday deals for Apple products.
How Much Are MacBooks on Black Friday?
As of writing, I’m seeing below retail prices, with discounts starting $100 off, and even as high as $450 off the retail price. The discount depends on the model or configuration of the MacBook. Last week, some of the MacBook Pro laptops only have $100 off the price, now it’s $200. Prices and discounts do change so check them below.
What’s the Cheapest MacBook?
Right now, the cheapest MacBook you can get is the MacBook Air. It’s Apple’s entry level laptop. If you want the Pro variant, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with 1.4GHz base configuration is the cheapest.
MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro? Which One To Get?
If you are still undecided whether to get the Air or Pro, let me help you a bit. The MacBook Air is an entry level laptop. It is the lightest and thinnest among the MacBook series, also the cheapest, but it is also less powerful and doesn’t come with the features found in the Pro series.
The MacBook Air is great for typing documents, accessing the internet / social media, blogging on the go, light editing of photos, basic communication and emails, watching movies, listening to music and other basic or typical tasks that aren’t that demanding.
Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro is designed for users who require more (processing) power. These are geared towards content creators, photos and video editors, and for users you generally need a faster and more capable laptop.
The MacBook Pro is divided into three variants: the 13-inch model, 15-inch model and the newly released 16-inch model. The 16-inch replaces the 15-inch model, which is now discontinued by Apple. So expect that the retailers now are just making sure their inventory of the 15-inch variant is sold out the soonest possible time.
Speaking of 16-inch MacBook Pro, this one has a (much) better processor and graphics compared to the 13-inch and 16-inch variant. It also has a new Magic keyboard, better display, better battery and overall better set of features. But despite having a much better specs and display size compared to the 15-inch; their difference in dimension is almost the same, and weighs almost the same as well.
