Asus Rampage V Extreme Test Setup

I tested the Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard with an Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E processor. The full specifications of the system I used are listed below.

Asus Maximus Rampage V Extreme Review-15

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Motherboard: Asus Rampage V Extreme X99
Processor: Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61
Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 32GB
Graphics card: Asus STRIX GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Edition
Storage Drive: Crucial MX200 500GB
Power Supply: Seasonic X750 Gold Series v3
Chassis: DimasTech Easy v3.0 Test Bench

Please also take note that the motherboard’s performance is as good as the other components you install on it. Don’t expect that the Asus Rampage V Extreme will make your system perform way faster compared to other X99 motherboards with the same components installed. Don’t expect also that the components you installed, like CPU, memory and graphics card, will perform faster than expected just because you installed them on a high-end motherboard like this one.

Next page are the benchmark results.

I love computers since I was a kid. I’m always fascinated with new technology, especially in the PC world. Many years ago, I was curious if the reviews I read were true and real. So, why not test them myself and share my first-hand experience? And thus, here we are. Thanks for reading!
