Sure, there are a few improvements that the Pixel 7 (Pro) offers, but the set of features that the Pixel 6 Pro offers can’t be ignored as well. The best part is the Pixel 6 Pro is now selling at a significant discount. Let’s refresh our minds and see what the Pixel 6 Pro offers. Continue reading below and find out if the Pixel 6 Pro is still worth buying this 2023.

Hardware and Performance

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is one of the most well-optimized smartphones on the market. While previous Pixel phones were equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon chips, the Pixel 6 series came with the custom 5nm Google Tensor.

Equipped with 12GB of RAM, a minimum of 128GB of storage, and a Mali-G78 MP20, the Google Pixel Pro is a beast in terms of performance. Sure, newer phones, like the Pixel 7 (Pro), are faster; but the Pxeil 6 Pro can still handle anything you throw at it. Whether it’s playing games like Genshin Impact, Apex Legends Mobile, online blackjack for real money, streaming a movie on Netflix while replying to messages, or even just simply browsing the web.

Design and Display

When it comes to smartphones, design and display are two of the most important factors to consider. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the Google Pixel 6 Pro and see how it stacks up.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Pixel 6 Pro is its 6.7-inch OLED display with a Quad HD+ resolution, 1440×3120, and ~512 ppi density. This display is absolutely gorgeous, with rich colors and deep blacks. It’s also very bright and HDR10+ capable, making it easy to see even in direct sunlight. Its display has a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth and responsive interface.

In terms of design, the Pixel 6 Pro is a noticeable departure from previous Google smartphones. It features a Gorilla Glass Victus cover on both the front and back. The result is a phone that looks and feels premium but it’s still lightweight and easy to hold. The camera bump at the back are quite unique as well; one look and you can tell it’s a Pixel phone.

Battery Life and Charging

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is equipped with a 5,003 mAh battery, which is larger than its predecessors. The Pixel 6 Pro lasts approximately 12 hours on a single charge with medium usage.

That’s a solid result, but it’s worth noting that the phone’s battery life will vary depending on how you use it. For example, if you’re constantly streaming video or playing games, you can expect the battery to drain more quickly.

When it comes time to charge the Pixel 6 Pro, you’ll be happy to know that it supports fast charging. It takes approximately 2 hours to get the phone from 0% to 100%. Or 50% in just 30 minutes. That’s not the fastest charging speed seen from a smartphone, but it’s still plenty fast enough for most people.

Camera

One of the most exciting aspects of the Pixel 6 Pro is its camera system. It features three rear cameras: a 50MP f/1.9 wide lens, a 48MP f/3.5 telephoto lens, and a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens. This gives users more flexibility when taking photos, and it also allows for some impressive zoom levels. The front-facing camera has also been updated and now includes an 11.1MP ultrawide lens.

Software

The Google Pixel Pro has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from an (ex) high-end device, including a powerful processor, a large display, and an impressive camera. But what makes the Pixel Pro stand out from other flagship smartphones is its software and security features.

The Pixel Pro runs on Google’s Android operating system, which is known for being user-friendly and customizable in comparison to the iOS. And because it’s a Google device, you can be sure that all the latest Android updates will be available for the Pixel Pro as soon as they’re released.

In addition, Google has advised that they will continue supporting the 6 Pro with major OS upgrades until 2024 and security updates until 2026.

Price and Availability

The Google Pixel 6 Pro comes in three colors: Cloudy White, Sorta Sunny, and Stormy Black, and its starting price was $899. However, since this smartphone has been in the market for quite some time and is already succeeded by the Pixel 7 series, you can get a Pixel 6 Pro for around $590 USD. You can also save even more with a refurbished unit. Depending on the condition, some retailers are selling a refurbished Pixel 6 Pro for around $300++.

If you’re looking for a more affordable option, the Google Pixel 6 is available starting at $399 in today’s market; it used to be $599. Meanwhile, a refurbished Pixel 6 in excellent condition retails for around $230+. The Pixel 6 doesn’t have all of the same high-end features as the Pro model, but it’s still a great phone in its own right.

Conclusion – So, Is It Still Worth Buying?

At the end of the day, the Google Pixel 6 Pro is an excellent smartphone with solid performance, a beautiful design, and a reliable camera. The 6 Pro has many features that make it stand out despite being an older model. It was released back in 2021, but this smartphone can still handle most, if not all, apps for your daily needs.

So, if you’re looking for an excellent smartphone at a discount, the Pixel 6 Pro should be at the top of your list.

    • I am using the same 6 pro since the release and still works well.
Before I had a 3a and great value.
Having a bad experience does not mean the brand is bad.
