This is my first time to encounter a packaging like this for a memory kit. Just holding the box and feeling the surface’s texture tells you that what’s inside is something premium and special. It feels like a limited edition compared to other DDR4/DDR3 memory sticks. Klevv has been very conservative with the words you can read from the outside of the box. What you see in the label is just the name of the product, a very brief description and a small list of features.

Click the images for a larger view. The Klevv Cras features an all metal design heat spreader. The only plastic material here is the small transparent plastic located in the top middle portion that helps to spread the light of the LEDs. The Klevv Cras looks and feels very premium. It feels very solid and is also somewhat heavy compared to other memory kits. The heat spreader feels thick and is really solid as well. At first, I was worried that I may not be able to remove and dissect the memory kit. But removing the heat spreader was no difficult task at all, since I only need to remove the screws holding the heat spreader together.

Above you see a photo from the top viewing angle. Like I said earlier, the Klevv Cras is available with white LEDs and red LEDs. I think the red LED kit will perfectly match black/red themed systems, or if you are using a motherboard like the Asus Rampage V Extreme. The white LED kit looks great as well, since it can be matched with most systems regardless of the theme color.

Removing the heat spreader is actually much easier compared to removing the heat spreader of the Klevv Genuine. You only need to remove the screws from both sides and gently separate the heat spreader from the memory ICs. Above you can see the different parts of the Klevv Cras. There are a total of 8 LEDs per stick and a thin transparent plastic helps to spread the light.

Looking closer at the memory ICs, we see it labeled as ISDT I5AN4G8NMFR. I tried to research about the type of memory used, but there were no information available regarding this specific memory chip, except that it’s being linked to SK Hynix. I also see the “ISDT I5AN4G8NMFR” being listed on the Qualified Vendors List (QVL) of  some motherboards like the Asus Maximus VIII Extreme.
Let’s proceed to the next page and see how the Klevv Cras DDR4-3000 performs on our test system.

  1. Don’t trust aida64 since it shows bullshit. There are no such stupid frequencies in SPD. Check them out with Thaiphoon Burner software which is free for reading and displaying SPD info.
