Klevv Cras DDR4 3000MHz 16GB Memory Kit Review, You Sexy Thing!

Test Setup

Klevv Cras DDR4 Memory Review-04

I had plenty of time to test and play with this memory kit, and I tested the Klevv Cras DDR4-3000 in two different systems. The first system is with a Gigabyte X99-UD3P motherboard powered with an Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E processor. After all, the Klevv Cras is primarily designed for X99 systems, since the Z170 were not released yet at the time the Klevv Cras first became available. Below are the rest of the specifications of the test system.

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte X99-UD3P
Processor: Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61
Memory: Klevv Cras DDR4-3000 16GB kit

Below is a CPU-Z screenshot of the system where the CPU is running at 4GHz and the memory is configured using the Intel XMP Profile.

Since Klevv hasn’t released a DDR4 memory yet designed or optimized for the new Z170/Skylake platform, I decided to test the Cras with a Z170 motherboard powered with an Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake processor, to see if users who plan to build a Skylake system can use the Cras on their system. Below is the specification of the second test system.

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700K
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61
Memory: Klevv Cras DDR4-3000 16GB kit
Graphics card: Zotac GeForce GTX 950 AMP! Extreme
Storage Drive: ADATA SP550 240GB SSD

  1. Don’t trust aida64 since it shows bullshit. There are no such stupid frequencies in SPD. Check them out with Thaiphoon Burner software which is free for reading and displaying SPD info.
