MSI MEG Z590 ACE Gold Edition Motherboard – What’s The Difference?

MSI’s MEG series is their top-of-the-line product built for enthusiasts. MEG stands for “MSI Enthusiast Gaming“. With the release of Intel’s latest 11th Gen Rocket Lake processors, MSI also released several Z590 motherboards. One of them is the MSI MEG Z590 ACE that is available in standard and Gold editions. We already know what the standard MEG Z590 ACE looks like and the set of features it offers. But we don’t know yet what the Gold Edition looks like or its features, until recently. Check out more details below.

MSI MEG Z590 ACE Gold Edition Pictured – More Like Gunmetal Edition Than Gold

Several photos of the upcoming MEG Z590 ACE Gold Edition motherboard were leaked by @momomo_us. It looks very similar or the same as the standard Z590 ACE, except for the color scheme of the motherboard. The standard MEG Z590 ACE has an all-black color scheme with gold highlights. Meanwhile, the Z590 ACE Gold Edition has this silver or gunmetal color scheme with gold accents.

Unfortunately, only photos of the motherboard were shared. The leaker didn’t share additional information or mentioned any unique features it has that the standard edition doesn’t. Just looking at the photos and comparing them side by side, we can tell that it’s the same motherboard but with a different color theme. Perhaps, the only difference is in aesthetics. Check out the photos below.

Highlighted Features and Specifications

MSI’s MEG Z590 ACE motherboard features 16 phases VRM with 90A Smart Power Stage, Titanium Choke III, and ISL Digital PWM. Its PCB is made of 8 layers with 2oz thickened cooper for a more stable and cooler operation.

There’s a substantial amount of heatsink for the MOSFET and VRM that extends towards the IO cover. Like most high-end motherboards, it has a heatsink cover for the M.2 NVMe slots. There is also an aluminum backplate that not only protects the backside of the motherboard but also helps cool down the MOSFET area.

Perhaps one of the features that I am excited about this motherboard is that it has dual Thunderbolt 4 ports. Each port is capable of 40GB/s transfer speed, 8K display support, daisy-chaining, and multi-port accessory architecture. It also has WiFi 6E AX210 and several other connectivity options.

The MSI MEG Z590 ACE supports the new 11th Gen Rocket Lake, 10th Gen Intel Core, Pentium, and Celeron processors for socket LGA1200. It also supports DDR4 memory with a speed of up to 5600MHz (OC). There are more features, but I’ll reserve them for our full review of the standard edition.

Pricing and Availability

As of today, I don’t see the Gold Edition being listed on popular (e)retailers yet. But the standard MSI MEG Z590 ACE motherboard is currently retailed for around $500 or less. For the latest pricing and availability, you can check it out via the link(s) below.
