MSI has recently revealed their first Z97 motherboard to feature a Black and White color theme – the MSI Z97 SLI Krait Edition. The Z97 SLI Krait Edition, based on visual observation, looks like a mid-range motherboard and doesn’t come with eye-popping features that many of us are looking for in a Z97 motherboard. However, the main feature of the Z97 SLI Krait Edition is its Black and White color theme. After MSI has revealed this Black and White motherboard on their Facebook fan page, a lot of people gave their positive feedback about it. Check out some of its features and specifications below.

MSI Z97 SLI Krait Edition Features and Specs
The MSI Z97 SLI Krait Edition pretty much looks like the Z97S SLI Plus or Z97-G55 SLI. It features the same heatsink design, and more or less motherboard layout, but comes in black and white instead of black and blue.
It doesn’t come with any fancy LED path or audio core, instead you get a 6 Phase power design with 4x DDR3 memory DIMM slots. It features OC Genie 4 and supports SLI configuration (obviously). Aside from the 2x PCIE x16 slots, it also comes with 3x PCIE x1 slots and two PCI legacy slots.
The MSI Z97 XLI Krait Edition also comes with an M.2 PCIE port, a SATA Express port and 4x SATA III 6Gbps ports. On the rear I/O ports expect the usual PS/2 keyboard and mouse combo port, VGA and HDMI ports, LAN port, a few USB 3.0 ports and the usual audio ports.
There’s nothing exciting about this motherboard really, except for the refreshing color theme. Perhaps MSI is just experimenting and would like to know how its customers would react to the change in color.
Who knows, MSI might say goodbye to the overly used Black and Red color theme, and implement Black and White with their higher end models. Actually, MSI will be releasing an all-Black motherboard – the MSI X99S SLI Plus high end desktop motherboard supporting the latest Intel Haswell-E processors and DDR4 memory.
