REDMAGIC, a company known for its gaming smartphones, has entered the PC peripheral market. While we mostly hear about OLED gaming monitors this year, 2023 is the year Redmagic enters the monitor market. Redmagic’s 4K monitor is not OLED; instead, it is a 27″ IPS LCD with a refresh rate of up to 160Hz. It has over 2000 mini-LEDs with 1152 “lighting partitions”, and by lighting partitions, I think they meant local dimming zones. It also supports display HDR 1000 and interestingly, based on paper, it sounds similar to INNOCN 27M2V, also a 27-inch 4K 160Hz HDR1000 with 1152 FALD. Redmagic hasn’t disclosed the MSRP for its 4K UHD gaming monitor yet; however, INNOCN 27M2V retails for $700. I’m guessing Redmagic’s 4K monitor would be priced similarly or perhaps slightly higher.
