Late last year, Sabrent released its Rocket 2230 SSD, a tiny SSD designed for small form-factor devices like mini PC and handhelds. The Rocket 2230 SSD is only available in 1TB capacity. While it may be enough for regular PC use, a 1TB SSD capacity can be limiting, especially if you have a large game library. Recently, Sabrent released its Rocket Q 2230 2TB SSD capacity. With 2TB, you can store more games for your Steam Deck or the upcoming Asus ROG Ally. It’s now available on here. And you can check out more details below.

For gamers, fast load times, seamless gameplay, and sufficient storage space are essential. Sabrent’s team of experts developed an SSD solution tailored explicitly for handhelds like Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally. According to Sabrent, the Rocket Q 2230 SSD delivers exceptional performance, allowing devices like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and even a Microsoft Surface to unleash their potential fully. Its compact size, remarkable speed, efficient cooling, and reliability make it the ideal companion for gaming enthusiasts.

Sabrent’s team conducted rigorous testing by integrating the new Rocket Q 2TB SSD into a Steam Deck unit within their lab facilities. The results were truly impressive, surpassing the performance of the stock SSDs found in Steam Decks. The Rocket Q 2230 2TB SSD managed to reach a sequential read speed of 3,566 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 3,206MB/s

A PC enthusiast and a gamer, and my eyes eat frames for breakfast, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  1. I’m hoping someone will report on how the more powerful SSD affects the temperatures of the handhelds. We know the 1TB one has an impact and previous 2TB option had a bigger impact. I can only guess that the Q series was chosen for power efficiency and cooler operation, but I won’t risk my Steam Deck without certainty.

    • Unfortunately, I don’t have a Steam Deck and Sabrent’s new 2TB SSD. But it would be interesting to see whether it affects the overall temp and battery life.
