Western Digital’s SanDisk 1TB Extreme UHS-I microSDXC Memory Card Released

Western Digital recently announced their latest UHS-I microSDXC boasting a whopping 1TB capacity – the SanDisk Extreme 1TB microSDXC UHS-I memory card. The 1TB microSDXC card will be available in all three SanDisk Extreme variants: the Extreme Pro, Extreme Plus and Extreme. The 1TB Extreme Pro microSDXC offers read speeds of up to 170MB/s and write speed of up to 90MB/s. The Extreme Plus variant offers similar speeds with the Extreme Pro, while the Extreme (only) offers a slightly slower read speed of up to 160MB/s. Aside from the 1TB capacity, a 512GB capacity will be available as well. This new card allows consumers to transfer files in nearly half the time over standard UHS-I microSD cards currently on the market. The cards reach these record-breaking speeds by leveraging Western Digital’s proprietary flash technology. The new SanDisk Extreme card will also be available in 512GB* capacity, and will feature the A2 specification for launching and loading apps at blazing speeds.

SanDisk Extreme 1TB and 512GB UHS-I microSD Pricing and Availability

The SanDisk 1TB and 512GB Extreme UHS-I microSDXC memory cards are available for pre-order now on SanDisk.com, and will be available at select retailers in April 2019. The 1TB SanDisk Extreme Plus microSDXC UHS-I will come with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $449.99 USD, while the 512GB capacity is priced at $199.99 USD.
