Zotac recently unleashed several GTX 980 Tis featuring various clock speeds and custom cooler design. One of the company’s flagship graphics card is the Zotac GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme Edition, which is currently being demoed in Computex 2015 at Taiwan. The AMP! Extreme Edition comes with the highest factory overclock speeds amongst their lineup. It also features a massive IceStorm custom cooler design with EKO fans for reduced noise. More details below.

As you can see from the photos, the Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme is huge, not to mention thick as well. Zotac also added more LED lighting near the output ports and on the other side of the card. The graphics card looks rugged and I’m sure solid as well. It measures 12.92-inch in length, 5.24-inch in height and will occupy 2.5 slots (meaning half of the 3rd PCI slot will be occupied).

Under the hood, the Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme features 2,816 CUDA cores with a clock speed of 1253MHz base and 1355MHz boost. That’s a huge 25% increase in clock speeds compared to the reference GTX 980 Ti. The 6GB GDDR5 memory is also overclocked at 7210MHz effective.

As for display outputs, it has 3x DisplayPort 1.2 and 1x HDMI port, both will support 4K resolution at 60Hz speed, and 1x Dual-link DVI for resolutions up to 2560×1600. The card is able to handle up to 4 displays at the same time. The GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme draws its power from two 8-pin PCIE power connectors and will require at least a 600W PSU.

At this point in time, Zotac hasn’t disclosed its retail price yet, but expect that it will have a premium price tag, which is higher than the $649 USD price tag of the reference GTX 980 Ti.
