AMD Ryzen Z1 Series Zen 4 Processors Announced – Will Power Asus ROG Ally Game Console

One of the most highly anticipated handheld game consoles coming on the market is the Asus ROG Ally. It has been teased since early this month and looks like a better handheld game console than the Steam Deck. Finally, we have more information on what type will power the ROG Ally. AMD officially announced its Ryzen Z1 series processors based on AMD’s Zen 4 architecture. The Ryzen Z1 Extreme is the top CPU featuring 8 cores and 16 threads. AMD Introduces Ryzen Z1 Series Processors, Expanding the “Zen 4” Lineup into Handheld Game Consoles

AMD Ryzen Z1 and AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processors bring ultimate portability and battery life to handheld PC gaming consoles

AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) introduced the new Ryzen Z1 Series processors, the ultimate high-performance processor for handheld PC gaming consoles. The Ryzen Z1 Series features two high-performance processors, the Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme, both offering industry-leading gaming experiences, uncompromising battery life, and featuring AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture-based graphics. AMD is partnering with Asus to launch the first Ryzen Z1 Series device with the Asus ROG Ally, a premium handheld PC console, featuring up to a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor.

Ryzen Z1 Series Devices Available Soon

AMD Ryzen Z1 processors will be available first in the Asus ROG Ally. More information about the Asus ROG Ally availability and pricing will be announced by Asus on May 11.

AMd Ryzen Z1 Extreme and Z1 CPU Benchmarks

Aside from the press release, AMD also shared some Z1 and Z1 Extreme benchmarks. Based on the benchmark slides, the Z1 and Z1 Extreme CPUs can push games above 60fps at 1080p, but with low graphics settings and with the help of RSR.
