Asus’ high refresh rate portable gaming monitor, the Asus ROG Strix XG17AHP, is now available. It was first announced early this year and it took six months later to finally hit store shelves. The Strix XG17AHP is a 17” full HD IPS display that features a whooping 240Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. This is a portable gaming monitor for those who are looking to extend their smartphone, laptop or even desktop’s display. Check out more of its features and where to get one below.

Asus ROG Strix XG17AHP – The World’s Fastest Portable Gaming Monitor

Right off the bat, the ROG Strix XG17AHP is a 17.3-inch portable gaming monitor with a resolution of 1920×1080 or full HD. It features an IPS panel, so expect great viewing angles, and offers up to 240Hz refresh rate with adaptive-sync for a smoother gaming experience.

Conveniently, it comes with a 7800mAh battery that is rated to last up to 3 hours of use on the go. So you don’t need to plug it to a wall power when using, just like a tablet. It does come with a quick-charge technology and can be recharged via a USB-C port. Aside from the USB-C port (also its DisplayPort), it has a micro-HDMI port as well. The two ports can be connected with a smartphone, tablet, laptop, game consoles and a desktop PC.

The Strix XG17AHP portable gaming monitor is thin with a thickness of only 1cm, and weighs around 1,060 grams. When it comes to audio, it features two built-in 1W speakers, not really impressive though, but it does come with an ESS Sabre 9118 digital-to-analog converter, or DAC. However, it’s not the best DAC out there, but expect sound quality to be decent at best.

When it comes to accessories, the XG17AHP ships together with a ROG bag, a smart cover (that can also be used as a stand), and the ROG tripod. The tripod’s height can be extended to increase it’s height.
