Best WiFi 7 Routers That You Can Buy Right Now

WiFi 7 (IEEE 802.11be / Extremely High Throughput) is the latest wireless protocol and is slowly getting attention. It covers all three bands, 2.5 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz, just like WiFi 6E. But its bandwidth, speed, and multi-link operation are the real game changers. It can theoretically reach speeds of up to 46.1Gbps, whereas the best WiFi 6E can only achieve up to 9.6Gbps. It also covers a broader bandwidth, up to 320MHz, vs WiFi 6E’s 160MHz. While some WiFi 7 routers are now available, they are still quite new. So, it is not unusual if a router has some quirks out of the box. Router companies will roll out firmware updates along the way. But if you want to be an early adopter of WiFi 7, we listed below some of the best WiFi 7 routers you can get.

wifi 7 routers available

Note: The WiFi 7 routers are listed in reverse alphabetical order. For example, “A” (for Asus) would be the last, but it does not necessarily mean it’s the least. It also doesn’t mean that this list’s first WiFi 7 router is the best.

TP-Link Archer BE800 Tri-Band BE19000 WiFi 7 Router

TP-Link Archer BE800 Wi-Fi 7 Router

The TP-Link Archer BE800 is the company’s stand-alone or single router solution that is Wi-Fi 7. This router is big, measuring 11.9″ × 10.3″ × 3.8″ in, but it has an LED screen at the front. It’s not exactly an LCD display, but the dots you see that show some information. Its notable features include 19Gbps speed and support Tri-band with Multi-Link Operation and dual 10G ports aside from the four 2.5G ports.

TP-Link’s Archer BE800 Wi-Fi 7 router has 12 streams, 320MHz channel support, MU-MIMO support, and can connect up to 100 devices thanks to its 8 beamforming antennas. It is also EasyMesh compatible, meaning it will work with EasyMesh routers if you want to extend its range. It also features HomeShield and supports VPN clients or VPN servers. Users can also manage the Archer BE800 router via the Tether app.

TP-Link Deco BE85 Tri-Band BE22000 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System

TP-Link Deco BE85 Home Mesh Wi-Fi 7 router

For those who need a home mesh Wi-Fi system, TP-Link has the Deco BE85 that is available in either a 2-pack or 3-pack. Usually, the 3-pack Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 7 system is ideal for (very) large houses with two floors. The Deco BE85 is somewhat similar to the Archer BE800, considering both are Wi-Fi 7 routers. However, the Deco BE85 is intended to be used as a whole home mesh system. Below are its highlighted features:

  • 12-Stream 22 Gbps Tri-Band Wi-Fi – 11520 Mbps (6 GHz) + 8640 Mbps (5 GHz) + 1376 Mbps (2.4 GHz).
  • Unprecedented 10 Gbps Network – 1× 10 Gbps Ethernet/Fiber Combo WAN/LAN port + 1× 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port + 2× 2.5 Gbps ports ensure max flexibility and boosted throughput.
  • Wireless and Wired Combined Backhaul – Connects a wireless and wired backhaul with each unit simultaneously to improve overall throughput and reduce latency.
  • Multi-Link Operation (MLO) – Simultaneously send and receive data across different bands and channels to increase throughput, reduce latency, and improve reliability.
  • 320 MHz Channels – Double the bandwidth and enable many more simultaneous transmissions at the fastest possible speeds.
  • Works on the 6 GHz Band – Minimizes congestion with greenfield spectrum, delivering robust high-speed connections.
  • TP-Link HomeShield – Provides comprehensive network protection, robust parental controls, and real-time IoT security.
  • Universal Compatibility – Backward compatible with all Wi-Fi generations and works with any internet service provider (ISP) and modem.

TP-Link Deco BE95 Quad-Band BE33000 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System

TP-Link Deco BE95 Quad-Band Home Mesh Wi-Fi 7 router

TP-Link also has the Deco BE95 Wi-Fi 7 Whole Home Mesh system. This one is very similar to the Deco BE85, but it is slightly more powerful, thanks to its quad-band setup. However, for most people, a tri-band router is enough unless you really need the 4th band. Below are highlighted features of the Deco BE95.

  • 16-Stream 33 Gbps Quad-Band WiFi – 11520 Mbps (6 GHz-1) + 11520 Mbps (6 GHz-2) + 8640 Mbps (5 GHz) + 1148 Mbps (2.4 GHz).
  • Multi-Gig 10 Gbps Network – 1× 10 Gbps Ethernet/Fiber Combo WAN/LAN port + 1× 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port + 2× 2.5 Gbps ports ensure max flexibility and boosted throughput.
  • Multi-Link Operation (MLO) – Simultaneously send and receive data across different bands and channels to increase throughput, reduce latency, and improve reliability.
  • 320 MHz Channels – Double the bandwidth and enables many more simultaneous transmissions at the fastest possible speeds.
  • Works on the 6 GHz Band – Minimizes congestion with greenfield spectrum, delivering robust high-speed connections.
  • Boosted Seamless Coverage – Mesh Wi-Fi coverage for over 9,000 sq. ft. (3-pack).
  • TP-Link HomeShield – Provides comprehensive network protection, robust parental controls, and real-time IoT security.
  • Universal Compatibility – Backward compatible with all Wi-Fi generations and works with any internet service provider (ISP) and modem.

Linksys Velop Pro 7 BE11000 Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 7 Router

Linksys Velop Pro 7 Mesh WiFi 7 router

Linksys’ Velop Pro 7 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 router is still new. In fact, you can order one now, and it will start shipping on Oct 16th. There’s no to very little information as well, including feedback from the review community or customers. So, if I am looking for a Wi-Fi 7 router right now, I’ll have second thoughts, even third, whether I should pick this one or not. Its 2.5Gbps WAN ports and four 1Gbps ports are also a deal breaker for me.

Also, considering the current pricing of the Linksys Velop Pro 7, it is very expensive compared to the other Wi-Fi 7 listed here. Not to mention, its set of features is lackluster compared to the other Wi-Fi 7 Mesh routers. Perhaps it may be worth considering when the price drops or adjusts by the time you land here.

NETGEAR Nighthawk RS700S Tri-Band BE19000 WiFi 7 Router

NETGEAR Nighthawk RS700S Tri-Band WiFi 7 Router

One of the best-looking WiFi 7 routers I’ve seen is the Netgear Nighthawk RS700S. It has a tower-like design, and it looks discretely with its all-black color theme. The Nighthawk RS700S Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router offers 19Gbps speed and 10 Gig ports with Netgear Smart Parental Controls. This single router can cover up to 3,500 sq. ft. and can accommodate up to 200 devices. So far, I’m impressed with the set of features this router offers.

I think this is one of the best WiFi 7 routers you can get right now, especially if you don’t need a mesh system. I used their Nighthawk X6 R8000 for several years before, until I upgraded to a Wi-Fi 6 router. And I am excited to use their latest Wi-Fi 7, hopefully soon. Below are additional features that the RS700S offers:

  • Unlock the next generation of highly interactive gaming, 4K/8K streaming, UHD video conferencing and AR/VR entertainment with blazing fast Wi-Fi 7 speeds up to 19Gbps and lower latency for real-time responsiveness.
  • Supports the new Wi-Fi 7 standard – 2.4x faster than Wi-Fi 6. Fully backward compatible with older Wi-Fi devices.
  • Sleek new body and high performance antenna design leverages over 25 years of NETGEAR engineering expertise for a significantly smaller footprint and up to 3,500 sq. ft. of 360-degree Wi-Fi coverage.
  • 10 Gig internet port unleashes the fastest download speeds of today & tomorrow. Connect to the latest cable or fiber internet service plan up to 10Gbps.
  • One 10 Gig and four 1 Gig LAN ports designed for ultra-fast wired connections.
  • Powered by Broadcom’s powerful BCM6726/3 Wi-Fi 7 chips to deliver enhanced performance and groundbreaking speeds across all your devices.
  • NETGEAR® ArmorTM provides an automatic shield of security for your Wi-Fi and connected devices (PC, phone, camera, TV, baby monitor, etc.) for real-time protection against hackers and added privacy with VPN. 1-year subscription included1.

NETGEAR Orbi 970 Series Quad-Band WiFi 7 Mesh Network System

NETGEAR Orbi 970 Series Quad-Band WiFi 7 router

If you do need a mesh network system, Netgear has the Orbi 970 series Quad-Band WiFi 7 router. Like the Nighthawk RS700S, the Orbi 970 series is built with several features and is perfect for large homes as it can cover up to 10,000 sq. ft. with the 3-pack. I think the only real con about the Orbi 970 is its price, as this is quite an expensive Wi-Fi 7 router. But if you have a large house and have a lot of devices, the Orbi 970 is definitely a must-have. Below are some of its highlighted features:

  • Orbi® 970 Series with Wi-Fi 7 unleashes speeds up to 27Gbps for unparalleled performance and coverage for your whole home, from the front door to the back yard and the basement to the rooftop.
  • Wi-Fi 7 delivers 2.4x faster speeds than Wi-Fi 6 and is fully backward compatible with older Wi-Fi devices.
  • From 8K streaming to video conferencing, gaming, VR, and more, Orbi ensures your family can accomplish it all at once.

  • NETGEAR Armor™ software provides an automatic shield of security for your Wi-Fi and connected devices (PC, phone, camera, TV, etc.) for real-time protection against hackers and added privacy with VPN. 1-year subscription included.

ASUS RT-BE96U BE19000 Tri-band WiFi 7 Gaming Router

Last but not least is the Asus RT-BE96U WiFi 7 router. This one has been pretty hyped up since it is a WiFi 7 gaming router. Well, technically, you can game using any router. But gaming-centric routers usually have a feature where they put priority on gaming, offering better (lower) latency and faster stable connection than a typical router. Unfortunately, availability seems to be an issue with this router, as it is still out of stock at the moment.

Here are some of the highlighted features of the Asus RT-BE96U Wi-Fi 7 router:

  • Next-gen Wi-Fi Standard – Beyond-fast Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with new 320MHz channels in the 6 GHz band and 4096-QAM significantly increases network capacity and throughput, with speeds of up to 19 Gbps;
  • Multi-link Operation – Links to multiple bands at the same time to ensure stable internet connections and efficient data transfers;
  • Dual 10 Gbps Ports – Maximized wired connectivity and flexibility with dual 10G WAN and WAN/LAN ports and LAN aggregation support;
  • Subscription-free Network Security – With commercial-grade AiProtection Pro powered by Trend Micro™, plus a one-tap security scan and Safe Browsing;
  • Advanced Parental Controls – Protect your kids online with instant monitoring, content filters and customized settings for every connected device;
  • Comprehensive VPN Features – Including the Instant Guard mobile app for secure connection over public Wi-Fi;
  • AiMesh Extendable Router – Enables whole home seamless roaming with rich, advanced features.

There you have it; these are currently the WiFi 7 routers available in the market. I may update this article when a new WiFi 7 router gets released. Remember, unless you really need to, there is no rush in getting a WiFi 7 router (yet). WiFi 6E routers are cheaper and still very capable routers. Not unless you have a really big place and require the speed, bandwidth, and new features these WiFi 7 routers offer.
