WD announced a new external storage in addition to their My Passport lineup – the WD My Passport X. The new My Passport X is designed for gamers providing 2TB of additional external storage for their XBox One or PC. According to the company, the said new external storage drive is “built around high-quality WD Drive and is performance-tweaked to meet the desires of serious gamers”. Although it wasn’t clear what type of storage drives the company used in the My Passport X, or what the actual read/write speed is, I’m guessing that it will have a faster read/write speed than the usual My Passport drives. We will soon find out once official reviews and comparison are out. It also features a stylish and compact design that distinguishes itself from the other My Passport drives. WD My Passport X External Drive for Gamers
WD, a Western Digital company, and world leader in storage solutions, today introduced the My Passport X portable hard drive for gamers. When connected to Xbox One or a PC, the sleek 2 TB My Passport X drive provides much-needed storage capacity for gamers to store up to 50 extra game titles, eliminating the need to delete previously purchased games from their Xbox One or PC hard drives and removing those “storage full” warning messages while allowing players to get back to their games. The My Passport X portable drive delivers a fast and easy way to expand capacity and enables an expanded library of games on the go.”
