AMD Ryzen 9 5950X and 5900X Gets Huge Discount – Up to 25% Off, Lowest Price Yet!

AMD‘s best desktop processors recently got a huge discount, slashing 25% off the price for the Ryzen 9 5950X and around 21% off for the Ryzen 9 5900X. That’s $200 savings for the 5950X and $100 off for the 5900X. Both CPUs are currently AMD’s top-of-the-line flagship processors, offering up to 16 cores and 32 threads for the 5950X and 12 cores with 24 threads for the 5900X. Check out more details below.

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X and 5900X Discounted To Combat Intel’s 12th Gen CPUs

The Ryzen 9 59050X and 5900X offer excellent all-around performance, especially for consumers who require a lot of cores for heavy workloads. However, their initial retail prices were on the steep side. And with the release of Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake processors, AMD faces serious competition. Not to mention, AMD will be releasing the Ryzen 7 5800X3D a few weeks from now, and Zen4 is due later this year.

The new Intel Core i9-12900K, with its 16 cores (8 P-cores, 8 E-cores) and 24 threads, beats the Ryzen 9 5950X in several workloads and gaming scenarios. There are only a few instances where the 5950X outperforms the 12900K. For example, in Corona 1.3 benchmark, Blender renders, and it’s also more power-efficient than the 12900K.

When it comes to efficiency, the Ryzen Zen3 CPUs are still better, thanks to the 7nm fabrication process. Intel’s Alder Lake processors are based on a 10nm SuperFin process, but Intel calls it “Intel 7”.

Gaming-wise, the Ryzen 9 5950X and 5900X are a little bit overkill for gaming alone. Even the i9-12900K is a bit overkill for purely gaming purposes only.

Another good thing about the Ryzen processors is their excellent motherboard compatibility. AMD decided to stick with socket AM4 for several generations. It means the Ryzen 9 5950X and 5900X are compatible with an X570, B550, X470, B450, and even an A520. Although, it is best to pair these CPUs with a good X570 motherboard if you are building from scratch.

Just one thing to remember, both the 5950X and 5900X are outgoing products. They will soon be succeeded by Ryzen 7000 Raphael CPUs, which are expected to be released towards the end of this year. However, the upcoming Zen4 CPUs are completely different and will use a new socket type and will not be backward compatible with the older generations.
