Key Specifications

  • TBS-h574TX-i3-12G: Intel® Core™ i3-1320PE 8-core (4P + 4E) / 12-thread processor (Up to 4.5GHz); 12GB RAM
  • TBS-h574TX-i5-16G: Intel® Core™ i5-1340PE 12-core (4P + 8E) / 16-thread processor (Up to 4.5GHz); 16GB RAM

The TBS-h574TX all-flash NASbook features five flexible E1.S/M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD slots, accommodating either M.2 SSDs or E1.S SSDs for efficient RAW file editing. With hot-swappable M.2 SSD support and automatic RAID disk replacement (available from QTS 5.1/QuTS hero h5.1), users can seamlessly replace SSDs without system downtime, streamlining ongoing project workflows.

Powered by the 13th Gen Intel® Core™ hybrid-architecture 12-core and 16-thread processor, the NASbook delivers substantial computing power for multitasking in video production while the built-in GPU accelerates video transcoding. The dual Thunderbolt™ 4 ports offer direct connectivity to Mac/PC workstations for on-site rough cuts, and built-in 2.5GbE and 10GbE ports facilitate collaboration with more connected client devices. Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) ports enable faster import of video materials, and the 4K HDMI™ allows pre-production teams to display raw footage for quality reviews conveniently.

Serving as a storage and editing workstation for RAW files, the TBS-h574TX can also back up transcoded small files to myQNAPcloud Storage for easy access, synchronization, and file sharing across teams.

The TBS-h574TX operates on the QuTS hero operating system, utilizing ZFS for data integrity. With self-healing capabilities, it can automatically detect and repair corrupted data in RAW images. The inclusion of ZIL with power failure protection ensures that the NASbook can resume incomplete data writes after a power outage, preventing data corruption during modifications. QNAP’s patented QSAL algorithm enhances data protection by preventing simultaneous failures of multiple SSDs in an SSD RAID configuration. The TBS-h574TX is well-suited for various multimedia applications, serving as an ideal centralized storage solution for Adobe® users and functioning as a Roon® server for optimal music streaming.

  1. If I buy 5 units of SABRENT 8TB Rocket 4 Plus NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD Extreme Performance Solid State Drive R/W 7100/6600MB/s (SB-RKT4P-8TB) what are ideal RAID options ( Performance and loss of disk upto 1 drive is fine) ? And what would be available disk space ?

How about RAID5 with 5 – effective 7 TB SSD drive each ? What’s usable disk space after parity use?

    • Hello, sorry, but I haven’t tried this product yet.
But with 5x 8TB SSDs, with usable storage of around 7TB++ each, the usable disk space should be around 28TB++, more or less, with a one-drive fault tolerance.
I’m not an expert when it comes to RAID. I usually just use JBOD or RAID 1.
And I don’t think RAID 1+0 is necessary since it’s already using SSD.
Just note that based on its specs sheet, this QNAP device only supports PCIe Gen3 x2, and if you use a Gen4 SSD, expect the SSDs may not run at its rated speed.
