Silicon Power XS80 Gen5 SSD Announced – Offers Up to 10,000MBps Transfer Speeds

Silicon Power recently announced its upcoming PCIe Gen5 SSD – the Silicon Power XS80. If I am not mistaken, the XS80 uses Phison’s PS5026-E26 controller paired with a 232-layer 3D TLC NAND flash. Like most Gen5 SSDs, the XS80 offers up to 10,000MB/s of sequential read and write speeds. It also comes with a thick heatsink to keep the Phison E26 controller and NAND flash cool since Gen5 SSDs, like the Crucial T700 Gen5 SSD (review), tend to run hot, especially during prolonged sustained writes. Silicon Power will be unveiling the XS80 at PAX Aus 2023. You can check out more details below.

Silicon Power Is Set To Unveil the XS80 PCIe Gen5 SSD at PAX Aus 2023

Silicon Power is set to make its debut appearance at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), happening from October 6-8. Collaborating with its Australian distributors, Mwave and Umart, SP will be presenting special offers for gaming enthusiasts. Alongside these promotions, SP will showcase its gaming solutions, including the newly launched XPOWER XS80 PCIe Gen5 SSD. PAX, hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), is an ideal platform for SP to introduce its latest innovation, emphasizing the brand’s dedication to providing high-performance storage solutions for the gaming community.

Silicon Power’s XS80 Offers Game-Changing Gen5 Performance

Silicon Power’s XS80 offers impressive gaming performance through cutting-edge PCIe Gen5 technology, NVMe 2.0 support, and advanced 232-layer 3D NAND flash. This results in data transfer rates that are twice as fast as Gen4 and four times that of Gen3.

Achieving remarkable read speeds of up to 10,000MB/s, the XS80 ensures instant loading times and seamless gameplay, especially in expansive open-world gaming scenarios. Additionally, it boasts impressive write speeds of up to 10,000MB/s, enhancing installation speed, reducing progress-saving times, and minimizing in-game stuttering.

This SSD incorporates active cooling with a custom-designed aluminum alloy heatsink, intelligent thermal regulation technology, and the SP Toolbox software to maintain consistent performance and prevent overheating. Available in both 1TB and 2TB capacities, the XS80 caters to gamers with extensive libraries and multitasking requirements.

Upgrade for Less with Exclusive Online Promotions

In collaboration with Mwave and Umart, gaming enthusiasts have the opportunity to access exclusive online promotions available until October 8. These promotions encompass substantial discounts of up to 20% off on select SSDs and DRAM offerings from SP.

Among these offerings, three standout solutions are poised to elevate gaming experiences: the XPOWER XS70 PCIe Gen4 SSD, the US75 PCIe Gen4 SSD (compatible with the PS5), and the UD90 PCIe Gen4 M.2 2230 SSD (compatible with the Steam Deck and ROG Ally). For a firsthand experience with these products and other game-enhancing solutions, you can visit SP at booth #2400.
