ASUS ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT T16G Gaming Graphics Card Unleashed

Graphics cards are really hard to come by these days, and liquid-cooled ones are even rarer. Recently, ASUS released a new version of its liquid-cooled RX 6900 XT – the ASUS ROG Strix LC RX 6900 XT TOP T16G graphics card. Aesthetically speaking, it looks similar to its predecessor that was released late last year. But this new version is built with some “improvements” under the hood. It is said to be powered by a carefully selected, highest binned AMD “Navi 21 XTXH” GPU chip. There’s a lot of Xs in this product! More details below.

ASUS ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT is a “Liquid-Cooled Leviathan”

Aside from being liquid-cooled, what’s special about the new ASUS ROG Strix RX 6900 XT T16G is the silicon that’s powering it – AMD’s Navi 21 XTXH. It’s considered to be the “best binned” or cream of the crop amongst the Navi 21 chips. This GPU enables the graphics card to achieve higher clock speeds, at about 10% give or take, compared to the regular 6900 XT cards in the market.

Further, it has a game clock speed of 2,375MHz and a boost clock speed of up to 2,525MHz. These numbers are higher compared to its predecessor. However, that’s not the highest clock speed we have seen on an RX 6900 XT. There are other faster-clock RX 6900 XT in the market, like the Sapphire Radeon RX 6900 XT Toxic Extreme. And that one is also liquid-cooled with a 360mm radiator and three 120mm fans.

The rest of the design and aesthetics is very much similar to the previous one. It features a full-coverage cold plate for the GPU die and memory. There’s also an active blower-style fan and low-profile heatsink for the other components of the graphics card.

Unlike the Sapphire RX 6900 XT Toxic Extreme, the Asus ROG Strix LC RX 6900 XT T16G uses a 240mm radiator with two 120mm fans. I think this is the more appropriate size, especially when compatibility and clearance are taken into consideration. Its tube length is about 600mm for compatibility with EATX chassis and alternative mounts.

Similar to other top-of-the-line products from Asus, this graphics card also features Super Alloy Power II, Asus FanConnect II, and GPU Tweak II. The Super Alloy Power II includes premium alloy chokes, solid polymer capacitors, and an array of high-current power stages. You can check out the rest of the specs below.
