NVIDIA‘s latest GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU has arrived, and reviews highlight its value. Offering better performance for 1440p gaming compared to the RTX 4070, the RTX 4070 Super is only slightly slower (5% to 7%) than the RTX 4070 Ti but comes at about 30% lower cost, saving buyers $200. It outperforms the RTX 4070 by 15% to 18%, with only a minimal price difference of $50. If you plan to get an RTX 4070 Super for your gaming PC, we listed here the best RTX 4070 Super graphics cards currently available, from the most affordable to premium models.
How Fast Is NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 Super GPU?
Based on our review of MSI’s GeForce RTX 4070 Super Gaming X Slim, the RTX 4070 Super about 18% faster than the RTX 4070 and just a few percent away from the RTX 4070 Ti. This makes it a much attractive and sensible GPU than the RTX 4070 since it offered more performance for the same (previous) starting price of the RTX 4070.
Below are some benchmarks to give you an idea on the performance of an RTX 4070 Super.
Cheapest But Good RTX 4070 SUPER Graphics Cards
The GeForce RTX 4070 Super has a starting price of $599. Expect that the cheapest RTX 4070 Super card is priced at $599. However, sometimes manufacturers or retailers offer a bit of a discount. And we’ll add those cards in this section if that happens. But for now, these are currently the cheapest RTX 4070 Super cards available.
Asus Dual GeForce RTX 4070 Super Graphics Card
Currently, the Asus Dual GeForce RTX 4070 Super graphics card sells at the starting MSRP, which is $599.99. Usually, Zotac’s cards are cheaper and sometimes sell below MSRP. However, I have yet to see their Twin Edge cards priced at retail or discounted. Between Zotac’s and Asus’s cards, Asus usually has the better build and quality. So, at MSRP, the Asus Dual is the cheapest and best RTX 4070 Super graphics card you can get right now.
The Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super graphics card features Axial-tech fans, a small and compact 2.56-slot body design, dual fans (thus the name “Dual”), dual ball fan bearings, and a simple yet excellent aesthetics overall.
There are two variants available: the non-OC and the OC edition. The non-OC is the one priced at MSRP. Meanwhile, the OC edition is slightly priced higher. Between the two, I’d pick whichever model is the cheaper one. The non-OC variant has a boost clock of 2475MHz, while the OC edition has a boost clock of 2520MHz. There’s very little difference; honestly, the difference is negligible. You can manually overclock the card if you really want.

Best RTX 4070 SUPER Graphics Cards – The Middle Ground
In this category, these graphics cards usually feature better cooling and/or design. These cards can boost higher and/or longer since they have better cooling. The only downside of these “middle ground” or mid-range RTX 4070 Super cards is they are usually (slightly) more expensive than MSRP models. These custom cards are usually $30 to $50 more expensive than the MSRP variants. However, sometimes retailers, especially 3rd party sellers, overprice these cards. Don’t buy them if they are unusually priced higher.
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Super Gaming OC
Gigabyte’s GeForce RTX 4070 Super Gaming OC features the company’s Windforce cooling system and RGB Fusion lighting system. This card is a bit larger than the others here since it features a massive heatsink cooled by three alternate spinning fans. It also features a dual BIOS, a metal backplate, and a large copper plate to cool the GPU, VRAM, and other components.

MSI Gaming RTX 4070 Super 12G Gaming X Slim
If you don’t want a big and chunky card yet you want a cool and silent running card, then MSI’s RTX 4070 Super Gaming X Slim is a good option. It features MSI’s Tri Frozr 3 thermal design with three Torx Fan 5 fans, copper baseplate, a gamery aesthetics with a bit of RGB lighting, and it’s only a 2-slot graphics card. If the price of MSI’s RTX 4070 Super Gaming X Slim is similar or cheaper than Gigabyte’s or Zotac’s, I will pick this graphics card instead.

ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Super Trinity Black Edition
Zotac’s Trinity graphics card is also a good one. We’ve tested the RTX 4080 Trinity OC, which offered superb cooling. I doubt that the RTX 4070 Super Trinity Black is any different. The Trinity Black Edition, however, does feature a black finish on its front plastic cooler shroud. I wish Zotac also gave it’s metal backplate the same treatment. It would have made this graphics card look better. Nevertheless, expect this graphics card to perform slightly better than a stock or base model thanks to its large and chunky cooler,

Best and Premium RTX 4070 SUPER Graphics Cards
Now, if you want the best RTX 4070 Super cards, regardless of the pricing, I present these options. These cards offer premium design, build quality, and aesthetics. You are basically paying for the design of the graphics card and not the performance. Yes, these cards are not value-oriented, and their price is usually near the next higher GPU. When it comes to performance, they are usually better and faster than the other cards, but only by a (very) slight lead. So, only buy these if you have the cash and aim for the looks/design.
ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Super OC Edition
The Asus TUF is the “TUFest” graphics card on this list, as it features military-grade capacitors, three alternate spinning Axial-tech dual ball bearing fans, a rugged and sturdy cooler shroud, a massive heatsink, vented exoskeleton, with a bit of RGB lighting towards its end. Asus’ TUF cards are generally robust, run silently, and cool; such was our experience when reviewing the TUF 4090 card.

ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4070 Super OC Edition
Undoubtedly, the Asus TUF RTX 4070 Super is a robust graphics card. However, it looks industrial and lacks flare. If you want something that stands out and comes with RGB lighting, then the Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4070 Super OC Edition would be it. Like the TUF model, the ROG Strix features a 3.12-slot design with a chunky heatsink, axial-tech fans, and factory overclocked. On top of that, the ROG Strix features a diecast (metal) shroud, frame, and backplate. This card really feels sturdy and premium on hand. But be prepared to pay a premium price as well.

There you have it. These are what I believe are currently the best RTX 4070 Super graphics cards on the market. Pick the card that fits your budget and/or suits your taste.

GeForce RTX 4070 Super FAQs:
That really depends on your needs, what types of games you play, and your budget. If you are using a 1080p or 1440p monitor and you play modern-title games, then it may be worth it, especially if you plan to play games with ray tracing enabled.
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 Super is a mid-range GPU designed for 1440p gaming.
Depending on the game and how graphics-intensive it is, it may or may not be able to handle 4K gaming. It is primarily designed for 1440p gaming. If a game title is not that graphics-intensive, or the user is willing to lower the graphics settings and/or use DLSS upscaling technology, it may achieve a 60 fps frame rate or slightly higher. Our RTX 4070 Super review shows it can handle some games at 4K.
While it is not exactly on par, NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 Super’s performance is comparable to the RTX 4070 Ti or AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 GRE. Depending on the game or scenario, it is also (slightly) faster than an RX 7800 XT, RTX 3080, or RTX 3080 Ti.
NVIDIA’s official specs say that an RTX 4070 Super has a Total Graphics Power of 220 watts and requires a minimum 650W PSU. Our RTX 4070 Super review shows it can consume up to 240W of power (peak). But it usually plays around 204W on average.
There are plenty of excellent power supplies from reputable brands. I have used Seasonic, MSI, Corsair, and SilverStone PSUs. These brands generally have good to excellent PSUs in their product line. Keep in mind that despite being reputable, it doesn’t mean that their products are infallible. Sometimes, they have bad PSUs, so check some reviews first.
In general, you will need at least a 650W PSU that is PCIe Gen5 ready, with the new 16-pin 12VHPWR connector for the RTX 4070 Super. Of course, you may need a higher-wattage PSU if you have a lot of components installed in the system.
Choosing the right CPU for the RTX 4070 Super will also depend on what you need to do with your PC. If it’s purely a gaming PC and typical desktop operation, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is currently the best CPU for gaming. However, if you need a productivity CPU or a combination of gaming and productivity, you may need to check out other CPUs, such as AMD’s Ryzen 7950X, 7950X3D, or Intel’s Core i7 14700 or Core i9 14900 series CPUs.
