If last year was the year of OLED gaming monitors, 2024 is probably the year of 4K QD-OLED gaming monitors. LG already announced its upcoming 4K OLED monitor featuring a dual resolution and refresh rate feature. I’m sure other companies will follow. Recently, MSI announced several OLED gaming monitors featuring next-generation OLED panels. The MSI MPG 321UPX QD-OLED monitor leads the pack. It is a 31.5-inch 4K UHD QD-OLED monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and a super fast response time of 0.03ms (GtG). The other monitors are MPG 491CQP QD-OLED, a 49″ super ultra-wide DQHD 1440p monitor; the MPG 271QRX, a 27″ QHD QD-OLED monitor but with a refresh rate of 360Hz. MSI will also release cheaper MAG variants of these QD-OLED later on. More details below.
According to MSI, the latest gaming monitors feature advanced QD-OLED panels in curved and flat designs, delivering an exceptional visual experience with precise pixel lighting control and true black scenes. The upgraded MSI OLED Care 2.0 enhances screen protection, reducing the risk of OLED panel damage during prolonged use. The fanless design, utilizing Graphene’s excellent thermal conductivity, ensures effective and noise-free heat dispersion, significantly prolonging the lifespan of these QD-OLED panels.
The new QD-OLED series gaming monitor showcases the latest generation QD-OLED panels. The sub-pixel arrangement enhances the viewing experience, delivering sharper images, finer details, and clearer text.
All of these new QD-OLED gaming monitors feature a 0.03ms (GtG) response time; refresh rate from 144Hz to 360Hz, depending on the model; VESA certification for ClearMR 13000 and DisplayHDR True Black 400; and HDMI 2.1 ports with 48Gbps bandwidth, 120Hz, VRR and ALLM support for the console.

The MSI MPG 491CQP QD-OLED is a 49-inch curved QD-OLED gaming monitor with a resolution of 5120×1440 and a curvature of 1800R. This is like putting two 2560×1440 monitors side by side. However, unlike the other QD-OLED monitors, this monitor can only do a 144Hz refresh rate. Below are the rest of its features:
