UPDATE: Note that as of September 17, 2022, EVGA has announced that they will no longer work with NVIDIA, ending the partnership immediately. They will continue to support and sell the RTX 30 series cards until all their stocks are sold. EVGA will also keep parts on hand for replacement and warranty purposes. Once all are consumed, they are finished with the graphics card business.

Best RTX 3090 Ti Graphics Cards In The Market

The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is currently NVIDIA’s top-of-the-line flagship GPU designed for high-resolution gaming and productivity. In previous generations, we only have x080 Ti as the flagship. But now, we have an x090 Ti as the top GPU.

Powering the RTX 3090 Ti graphics card is an 8nm GA102-350-A1 GPU based on NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture. It features 10752 CUDA cores with 336 Tensor cores and 84 RT cores. It has a base clock speed of 1560MHz and a boost clock speed of up to 1860MHz. But these clock speeds are reference specs, and depending on the graphics card, the manufacturer may apply higher or faster factory overclock speeds.

One advantage of the RTX 3090 (Ti) series is its 24GB memory size, double the 3080 Ti’s memory. It’s also using GDDR6X memory, but with a faster clock speed of 21Gbps and a higher bandwidth of 1,008GB/s.

However, these higher and faster specs also require higher power. The RTX 3090 Ti has a power target of 450W and requires at least an 850W PSU. It’s also using the new 16-pin PCIe power connector. Most PSUs nowadays don’t have this type of PCIe power connector yet. So, you’ll have to use three 8-pin PCIe power connectors instead. There should be an adapter included with the graphics card.

How Fast Is The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti?

The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti isn’t the best GPU in terms of price to performance. There’s very little difference or increase once you get to this GPU class. Diminishing returns are real, and you’ll have to pay more for that little increase in performance.

When it comes to performance, the RTX 3090 Ti is around 10% to 12% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti in 4K gaming. Compared to the non-Ti RTX 3090, it’s only roughly 8% faster. Although when compared to AMD’s Radeon RX 6900 XT, it is around 20% faster in 4K gaming. These are general numbers, and the performance difference could vary depending on the game title or workload.

However, price-wise, an RTX 3090 Ti is almost twice the price of an RTX 3080 Ti. And yet, you don’t get double the performance.

Who Is The RTX 3090 Ti For? Should You Buy One?

The RTX 3090 Ti is clearly not a value-oriented product. It is for those who want the best and fastest graphics card regardless of the price. I think the RTX 3080 Ti is the better value compared to the RTX 3090 Ti if you’re just looking for a fast gaming GPU.

However, if you need a graphics card that is for gaming and productivity as well, that large 24GB VRAM could be handy depending on the scenario, workload or application used. Only the RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 Ti have a 24GB GDDR6X VRAM. And between the RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 Ti, I’d rather recommend the RTX 3090 Ti instead.

Best GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Graphics Cards in General

EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming

EVGA’s FTW3 graphics card series has been one of the most popular graphics cards in the market. And EVGA’s RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra is also one of the best there is. It comes with a factory overclock setting, with a boost clock speed of 1920MHz. Thanks to EVGA’s iCX3 cooling technology with a vapor chamber, it can easily keep the GPU’s temperature at bay, resulting in a higher and/or longer boost clock speed. It has a 3.5-slot design, meaning it is a bit chunky, like most of the RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards here.

The EVGA RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra comes with an MSRP of $2,200 USD. But at the time of publishing this article, it’s currently selling below MSRP, at $2,000 USD.

UPDATE: As of today, this graphics card currently retails for around $1,300 only! See the latest pricing and availability below.

MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X 24G

Up next is the MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X 24G. Yes, it’s spelled as “SUPRIM” and not “SUPREME”, for obvious reasons. Well if it’s not obvious, SUPREME is a brand name and I think MSI doesn’t want to get any issues with its branding. What I like about the SUPRIM X graphics card is its dual BIOS feature. You can select from silent mode to OC mode. Also, I think having two BIOS is a safety measure in case the other one fails. I think dual BIOS is an essential feature, especially for a graphics card at this price.

The MSI RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X also features a factory overclock setting and can boost up to 1950MHz, slightly faster than the EVGA RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra. It also runs cool and silent thanks to its Tri Frozr 2S cooling system. At the time of publishing this article, this graphics card is also selling at below MSRP.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 TI Founders Edition

MSI and EVGA are not the only ones who have a big and chunky RTX 3090 Ti. NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition, also known as “The BFGPU” is quite chunky. By the way, BFGPU means Big Ferocious GPU. The Founders Edition has a slightly slower boost clock speed of 1860MHz, but it is expected to run cool and silent thanks to its unique blow-through cooling design. NVIDIA’s Founders Edition cards feature a clean and industrial or professional look. You simply can’t go wrong with a Founders Edition card.

MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Gaming X Trio 24G

MSI has a slightly cheaper variant of the RTX 3090 Ti – the MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Gaming X Trio 24G. The Gaming X Trio also uses a Tri Frozr 2 cooling solution and Torx Fan 4.0 fans. But it doesn’t have a dual BIOS feature. Its boost clock speed is similar to EVGA’s RTX 3090 Ti FTW3, which is up to 1920MHz. This is still a good option, especially if you like the look of the Gaming X Trio and if want to save a little bit of cash compared to the SURPIM X model.

ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3090 Ti AMP Extreme Holo 24GB

Zotac’s GeForce RTX 3090 Ti AMP Extreme Holo 24GB is also another good RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. Its HoloBlack design looks cool and can be a head-turner. It features IceStorm 2.0 Advanced Cooling and Spectra 2.0 RGB lighting. This is also another RTX 3090 Ti graphics card that has a Dual BIOS feature. When it comes to speed, this graphics card has a slightly higher boost clock speed than NVIDIA’s Founders Edition RTX 3090 Ti. Its boot clock speed is 1890MHz, but it can go a bit higher thanks to its cooling solution.

Best Water-cooled RTX 3090 Ti – ASUS ROG Strix LC GeForce RTX 3090 Ti OC Edition

Now if you don’t mind spending more for an RTX 3090 Ti and you want the, possibly, fastest and coolest (in temps) RTX 3090 Ti card, then the Asus ROG Strix LC RTX 3090 Ti OC Edition is the graphics card you are looking for. It has a boost clock speed of 1980MHz when using OC mode. And thanks to its superior cooling solution, which is a combination of air and liquid, expect that it can boost higher and longer compared to the air-cooled graphics cards.

The ROG Strix LC RTX 3090 Ti is a bit smaller compared to the other graphics cards listed here. And it only occupies 2.6 slots, so it’s not a chunky card. But you do need to make room for its 240mm radiator. It also has several RGB lighting, both on the graphics card and radiator’s fans. And yes, this graphics card also features Dual BIOS. This could be the best RTX 3090 Ti graphics card on this list, but it’s also the most expensive.

ASUS ROG Strix LC RTX 3090 Ti OC Edition is available on Amazon.com here.

That’s it for now. I only selected a few RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards since there are only a few that can be considered the best in their class. Also, most of these RTX 3090 Ti cards are selling at MSRP or below MSRP at the time I published this article. If you think the RTX 3090 Ti is not for you or it’s too expensive, perhaps you may want to check out some of the best RTX 3080 Ti cards instead.
