Crucial T500 Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD Released, Fastest Gen4 SSD From Crucial

I thought that Crucial wouldn’t release any new Gen4 SSD, considering they have released one of the fastest Gen5 SSD – the T700. But recently, Crucial released the T500 Gen4 NVMe SSD, maxing out the Gen4 speed limit. The T500 features up to 7,400MB and 7,000MB/s sequential read and write speeds. It will compete with some of the fastest Gen4 SSDs, like the Samsung 990 Pro and WD_Black SN850X. A Phison E25 controller powers the T500, paired with Crucial’s 232-layer 3D TLC NAND flash. It’s available with heatsink and non-heatsink variants and capacities from 500GB up to 2TB, with a 4TB capacity coming in 2024. You can get one now on Amazon here, and you can check out more details from the news release below.

Crucial Launches Lightning-Fast Gen4 Consumer NVMe SSDs for Gamers and Creators

Micron Technology, Inc. has recently introduced the Crucial T500 Gen4 NVMe SSD to expand its acclaimed NVMe solid-state drive (SSD) lineup. The Crucial T500 SSD is a top-tier PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive that utilizes Micron’s advanced 232-layer 3D NAND technology, featuring impressive NAND I/O speeds of 2.4 gigabytes per second (GB/s). This SSD is purposefully designed to enhance performance for console and PC gamers, as well as professionals engaged in photo and video editing and content creation.

It’s available in two configurations: the T500 SSD with a heatsink, tailored for platforms like the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PC gaming setups, and the version without the heatsink, ideal for laptops, desktops, and workstations. The T500 offers a notable 40% improvement in the performance-to-power ratio, with speeds that are twice as fast as the previous Gen3 NVMe SSD offering.

Featuring lightning-fast sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,400MB/s and 7,000MB/s, respectively, Crucial T500 SSDs allow gamers to experience faster game loading times (up to 16% faster), quicker game texture rendering, and reduced CPU utilization when using Microsoft® DirectStorage. Moreover, it’s user-friendly to install and provides storage options of up to 2TB, making it a perfect choice for PS5 upgrades or handling UHD/8K+ video content. The T500 also excels in content creation tasks, delivering up to 42% faster performance, enabling users to handle resource-intensive workloads and expedite the rendering of photos or videos.
