Let’s start with the best overall RTX 4060 gaming laptop, which goes to Asus’ ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop. It’s a sleek gaming machine with gaming-centric features and aesthetics, and the best part is it is available in two configurations or options.
The first is the cheaper and more affordable ROG Strix G16, model G164JV-AS73. This model features a 16-inch full HD display with a refresh rate of 165Hz. A 13th gen Intel Core i7-13650HX 14-core CPU powers this machine, paired with an RTX 4060 laptop GPU at 140W max TGP. It comes with 16GB DDR5 memory and 512GB SSD for storage. Don’t worry; upgrading the storage to a much higher capacity is easy. In terms of connectivity, it features some of the latest connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6E, Thunderbolt 4, etc.
ROG Strix G16 (G614JV-ES94) – Better Display and CPU, But More Expensive
On the other hand, the ROG Strix G16, model G614JV-ES94, is primarily similar in many aspects but comes with better hardware. This variant is powered by a 13th-generation Intel Core i9-13980HX 24-core mobile CPU and features a much better display – Asus’ ROG Nebula. Its 16-inch display has a QHD+ resolution, 2560×1600, with a refresh rate of 240Hz, Dolby Vision HDR, and has much better color accuracy and broader coverage than the cheaper G164JV-AS73 model. So, basically, the G614JV-ES94 model is faster regarding CPU performance and has a much better display, but it is also more expensive than the other model.

Acer Predator Helios 16 RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop (PH16-71-74UU)

Next is the Acer Predator Helios 16 gaming laptop, which features a 16-inch QHD 165Hz display and a 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700HX 16-core mobile CPU. The Helios 16 is less fancy than the ROG Strix G16; however, it has a slightly better mobile CPU and display than Asus’ G614JV-AS73 model. It also has 16GB DDR5 memory and 1TB Gen4 SSD, with a Killer Wi-Fi 6E for wireless connectivity options.
The Predator Helios 16 has a solid built quality and good cooling solution. Its input-output ports are located at the laptop’s sides and back. There’s not much RGB action except on the keyboard and rear portion. Overall, it’s a balanced RTX 4060 laptop that performs well but doesn’t cost much compared to the more expensive ROG G16 G614JV-ES94 model.

MSI Katana 17 B13VFK RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop
Also a good RTX 4060 gaming laptop
If you want a larger display but also cheaper, MSI has the Katana 17, model B13VFK-835US. It features a 17.3″ full HD 1080p display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The model currently listed has a 13th-generation Core i7-13620H 10-core processor, 32GB DDR5 memory, and 1TB NVMe SSD. It also comes with decent input and output port selection, though it doesn’t support Thunderbolt 4, only USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. The design of the Katana 17 is basic, with RGB backlit keyboards and a plain-looking outer clamshell design.
However, the Katana 15, model B13VGK-484US, which comes with a more powerful RTX 4070 but slightly smaller 15.6″ 1080p FHD 144Hz and 16GB DDR5 memory, is currently cheaper than the Katana 17 with RTX 4060. I don’t know why they did this, but the Katana 15 RTX 4070 is the better option for me. You can upgrade the memory later on if you need more than 16GB. But you can’t upgrade the GPU from RTX 4060 to RTX 4070. Although, you’ll have to compromise with a 15.6″ display instead of 17.3″.

Asus TUF Gaming A17 RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop
AMD Ryzen-powered RTX 4060 gaming laptop
If you are looking for an AMD Ryzen-powered gaming laptop, the Asus TUF Gaming A17, model FA707NV-ES74, is worth considering. It features a 17.3″ 1080p 144Hz display, similar to MSI’s Katana 17. An AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS 8-core CPU powers this laptop, paired with NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 laptop GPU at 140W max TGP. It also comes with 16GB DDR5 memory and 1TB Gen4 SSD.
Its connectivity option is less impressive compared to the ROG Strix G16. It only has Wi-Fi 6, USB 3.2 ports, and other essential input and output ports. Just remember, similar to MSI’s Katana laptops, the Asus TUF A17’s display is not the best out there as well. It is an IPS display but has a lower brightness level, and the color is not as accurate, especially when compared to Asus’ ROG Nebula display.

Lenovo LOQ RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop
Bringing Lenovo’s excellent laptop keyboard to gaming laptops
Finally, Lenovo’s LOQ gaming laptop with RTX 4060 laptop GPU is also worth considering. If you have used a Lenovo laptop before, their keyboards are excellent for a laptop. This particular model features a 15.6″ 1080p display with a 144Hz refresh rate, similar to the Asus TUF and MSI Katana. But it comes with 32GB of memory and 2TB SSD. However, you can configure it and add or remove more memory and/or storage.
The Lenovo LOQ is powered by an Intel Core i7-13700H, a 14-core CPU, though it is not the fastest in this list. Its connectivity options are on the basic side as well and without the Thunderbolt 4 option.
The last three RTX 4060 laptops are quite similar, though they use different CPUs. That’s why they are at the bottom since the Asus ROG Strix G16, and Acer Predator Helios 16 are much more worth considering than the last three. The last three are options if the budget is tight. But prices tend to change and sometimes deals are offered.
